To keep track of the whopping 527 entries into the ABS 1000th Post Stila Loves Barbie Palette & L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara giveaway, I put together a spreadsheet, learned how to randomize in Excel, and basically decided to go the whole nine yards. It was time-consuming, tedious, and to be honest somewhat miserable, but we've got ourselves a winner!

Ana this is giveaway win #2 for you! The Excel spreadsheet was such a pain in my butt (you know how technologically illiterate I am) but now that I've done it once I've got it down and will definitely be going that route again. It's so convenient to have Excel randomize and select a winner for me!

LOL Justine. So I entered this randomizing function in the B column that inserts random values next to each name. You then have Excel select a number at random I think and then I just pick the name that comes out on top.
I'd be excited by that kinda thing too =P.

Lisa the repeat names are separate entries for the same person. Every comment left constituted one entry, plus the retweets on Twitter, so I entered a new entry for each one.
Since you were kind enough to comment often on the blog, you had more entries (hence more of a probability of winning) and that's why your name shows up more often. Hope that makes sense!
