ABS' Giveaway for the Month of July!

Giveaway Goodies!

I happened to be around the MAC Pro store the other day for something work-related and it just seemed like a sin to be so close and to not pop in, so of course I had to make a quick stop before heading back to the office. I didn't pick up anything for myself since I'm on a self-imposed mini ban, but I did get some great goodies for this giveaway! I figured since many of you have never been to a pro store, it might be nice to give away something you wouldn't see at your non-pro MAC stores.

Yours for the winning are two items that I've been dying to own for myself, but you my lovely readers come first! Scroll down to learn how to win a Full Fuchsia (pro store exclusive) powder blush pan and a Pro Palette x6 blush compact to house this beauty.

I'd say this is a pretty accurate representation of what Full Fuchsia looks like in person.

Full Fuchsia is a pro-store-only bright iridescent true fuchsia blush that's amazingly pigmented and really eye-catching beautiful. This was the first blush to catch my eye among the myriad of shades that MAC products, and it was the only one I couldn't quite put down--hence the giveaway! And of course since you'll need a professional palette to house all of this hot pink goodness, you'll also be receiving a pro palette which will give you lots of room to grow your blush collection!

So onto the important bits--how to enter & hopefully win!

HOW TO ENTER: Leave me a comment by midnight July 31 (EST):

1)
Telling me about your favorite blush (brand and shade name) and explaining what makes it holy grail material; and

2) Spelling out your e-mail address (ex. a.beautyful.sentiment at gmail dot com) so that I know where to reach you.

Double your chances
of winning by signing up to receive A Beautyful Sentiment updates via e-mail! If you're already signed up via e-mail, please be sure to either tell me in your original comment, or to leave me a second comment telling me that you're a subscriber.

AND TRIPLE your chances of winning by following me on Twitter! Just leave me your Twitter username in the comments below so I know who you are (either in your original comment or in a separate comment).

omgg the colour's so pretty!!

A Beautyful Sentiment (*Jen*) said on July 7, 2009 at 3:12 PM

Thanks MSP! I'm always wracking my brains trying to figure what my next giveaway should be, and I must say I'm pretty pleased with myself about this one (although my wallet isn't loving me quite as much LOL).

Peachykeen is such a great choice, I own that one and love it too!

A Beautyful Sentiment (*Jen*) said on July 7, 2009 at 3:12 PM

Isn't it heart e? I'm such a pink-girl at heart and this shockingly pink hue definitely makes me happy. Please feel free to enter the giveaway! :)

Anastasia said on July 7, 2009 at 3:14 PM

First proper entry, perhaps? You already know I'm subscribed in every way I can possibly be to you. <3

THIS might just be my perfect blush, who knows. I'm still looking for the HG blush, honestly. Closest I've found so far is MAC in Well Dressed, but it's not as vibrant as I'd hoped and tends to look more peachy. I want a really PINK pink to match my colouring, not a peach pink as so many are.

Interestingly, in Kim Harrison's books, vampires can be born, as well as made. There's dead vamps and living vamps, and born living vamps are called High Blood, so maybe I could be one of those =[

Your giveaways are so much better than mine, ahah, mine tend to be more "Hm what do I have in my drawer..."

*Jen* said on July 7, 2009 at 3:28 PM

Ana this one is most definitely vibrant--shockingly so! You really need to use a light hand with this as it's so ridiculously pigmented. And it's definitely a real fuchsia--not peachy or red or anything of that sort--just a true fuchsia.

I still want to be a fairy lol!

And your giveaways just mean that you're less of a greedy monster than I am. I have to force myself to buy products for giveaways and then to specifically put them aside for the giveaway, or being the greedy, cosmetics-hungry beast that I am I'll use them and keep them for myself =X.

1. Aromaleigh's Rocks! Sonic blush in Candy-O
It's a super pigmented blush, so I only need to use the tiniest amount of product on a fiber optic brush to get a great glow. I love it because it's a bright fuschia that really works with my skintone and is super flattering. I can't help but love it!

This blush had me at iridescent fuschia!

*Jen* said on July 7, 2009 at 5:20 PM

Phyrra I remember when you suggested those blushes to me--you were so helpful with shade suggestions, and like you said they're seriously beautiful and pigmented. LOVE them! Although I ruined my Candy-O by attempting to press it :(. Oh well I guess that just means that I need another! You have such gorgeous pale skin though--you and Ana both!!

Phyrra said on July 7, 2009 at 5:21 PM

Aww thank you ;)

I don't know why some colors press ok and others don't :(

A Beautyful Sentiment (*Jen*) said on July 7, 2009 at 5:36 PM

Phyrra I know next to nothing about mineral makeup/lines so you're my mineral makeup guru!

My Candy-O pressed into this rock hard lump of pink that wouldn't release any pigment at all. I attempted to recrush it back into a fine powder, but ended up with pigmentless hot pink clumps instead. It was a sad sad day in Jenland!

Robby Raynebow said on July 7, 2009 at 5:57 PM

My fav blush? hmm a cheap Oriflame Giordani Gold mosaic powder in Natural Radiance. IT's great for any occasion. Not too shiny nor too matte. great for highlighting and shading, also for blushing, depending on which colors i use. It has different pink and beige parts. Basically gives a sophisticated look but can be overdone too *.*
Oh, and i've signed up for the mail notification too. =DDD
Sorry for the loooong comment T_T

I don't put on blush often enough! Out of the 8(?) blushes I own, peachtwist by MAC is my favorite. The fine shimmer loooks glowy when buffed out, and it's perfect for summer, which is all year round where I live. Plus, the bf picked it out for me, haha, therefore it'll always be special!

Lul, Nars blushes are all so dirty. Kind of makes me wonder about future product names, and just how more obscene they'll go.

Shonn said on July 7, 2009 at 10:51 PM

Awesome Jen! My fav blush looks to be in the same color family as this...so I hope I win!! I love Tippy from the Hello Kitty line. It makes me look so fresh and happy when I wear it and I never need to swirl my brush around too much, because it has great color payoff.
I subscribe, of course. And twitter is: shonntew.

NARS orgasm blush - HG because it's not too pink, not too orange, with just a hint of shimmer - not too disco-ball-y. it really looks like a soft flush and sculpts your cheekbones at the same time.

you only need a tiny bit too - a whole pan is a great investment since it'll last you a year or two, with daily usage.

my other HG blush is benefit 10 powder. i use this as a staple for stage makeup looks because it enhances the effect of being sculpted and toned. the pink-based (rather than orange-based) brown gives it a natural look. it will enhance the cheekbones and hollows!

you can reach me at inhaekoo@hotmail.com!

T.R. said on July 9, 2009 at 6:30 AM

Well right now my favorite is my Eve Pearl Blush Trio (2 matte blushes and a bronzer). I think the official name is Cheecky something or other. I'm not a huge blush person but one of my favorite YT gurus gossmakeupartist did a wonderful of his favorite MAC blushes (and I think this was one of them). Interestingly enough he said he only used the extreme colored blushes b/c they look good on all skin types and it's easier to take less of the intense blush than to try and build the neutral and less pigmented colors. And I think he's right.

So I would love this blush and palette to start off my journey into the MAC pigmented blush collection.....LOL

Email: t.davis.9060 at aol dot com. I already get updates. :O) Okay I'm still not going near twitter. LOL and that's saying something cause I just adore you to pieces Jen. :O)

Lareinarumbera you're vote #2 for orgasm! I remember I tried this once and wished it was a little more pigmented, but now that my blush application skills have vastly improved I'm tempted to try it again since I know that it's beautiful.

I've never seen the Benefit 10 powder--must google!

*Jen* said on July 9, 2009 at 10:37 AM

T.R. I grow through phases of addiction--one month it'll be glosses, then blushes, lipsticks, foundations, etc. I agree with the extreme blush thing - it's hard to build up less pigmented colors and to end up with a result that you're happy with.

LOL T.R.! Twitter has actually grown on me these past few weeks and I'm actually semi-addicted at this point. It's like super slow AIM =P

My entry is just for fun!

My favorite blush right now is MAC margin. It's a frost finish and gives me the prettiest subtle glow and the color is a beautiful dirty peach. It is really pigmented so it's lasted me for a long time. I use it almost everyday, some days in addition with other blushes (my next favorite is MAC eversun which I just bought). It is long lasting as well.

It's a really pretty natural blush that gives you a light flush on your cheeks. I really love it.

Tricia said on July 10, 2009 at 6:13 PM

My favorite blush is "Afterglow" from Ulta. I love it because it's a nice warm yet soft blush that if you have few layers is a nice warm pink mauve and you can build on it to a nice orange kind of blush. Sometimes i'll use it for a great lip color or eye color and it works great with some highlights and bronzers to create a fresh blush color.

My current favorite is Benefit PosieTint. I resisted this for so long because I just didn't think it would be so great. I finally gave in after all of the tons of great reviews and seeing it on so many best of lists, and I love it. It looks beautiful, and you just can't mess it up. It also looks lovely on the lips, but it is not the holy grail for lips that it is for cheeks.

I used to be a subscriber, but I have not recieved any updates lately - maybe I fell off the list?

I used to use Benetint, but it was kinda hard to use and was expensive! Cheeky is small AND cheap! It gives me this awesome "just pinched/flushed" look that lasts forever! It does get a little sticky sometimes, but I usually pat a little powder over it and it's beautiful! I'm actually really tempted to try it out in Nude now. :)

Aww Alex you flatter me!

If you tell me what kind of shades you like and what kind of complexion/coloring you have I'd be more than happy to offer up a few suggestions :)

Alex said on July 16, 2009 at 3:29 PM

I tend to favor taupe and brown eyeshadows, I'm working on venturing out into other colors. And i'm quite pale, my whole family teases me about it. I'm the family vampire. Oh and I've got brown hair and blue/grey eyes. As for other colors I'm completely open to suggestion.

A Beautyful Sentiment (*Jen*) said on July 16, 2009 at 3:36 PM

Alex you're so lucky to have pale pale skin -- this means that most blushes should pop beautifully against your complexion and most shades will work for you!

If you're just starting out with blushes and just looking to experiment, I suggest checking out some mineral makeup companies who offer cheap samples. Aromaleigh's Sonic Rocks blush in Candy-O (used in the tiniest quantity) looks stunning against pale pink -- don't be scared off by how bright it is! And Everyday Minerals has a free sample set that includes a blush -- all you pay is shipping.

Since you tend to favor the neutrals, I think for summer you'd look gorgeous in a soft peachy pink shade with just some subtle shimmer. Take a look at MAC Peachykeen -- I think you'd like it. And since you're really pale really hot pinks used very sheerly would give you an amazing chinadoll look. I say just experiment and have fun looking around! NARS makes some AMAZING blushes that are worth looking into too.

Wow Jen! Your giveaways are always so fun.. I might not comment on every post since you have so many, but I read them all! Loving your blog :)
Anyway my favorite blush is Jill Stuart Blush Compact with 4 different shades (mine is Apricot number 06) and it is my favorite because it has a cute highlighting light pink shade, darker pink for blush, and orange color to mix the colors up a bit. I like the color range because it matches my lighter Asian complexion well, plus the scent is fruity but subtle! Also Jill Stuart products are so cutely packaged. It is also not too pigmented so I love the slightly pinched cheeks effect. My email is ixheartbear (at) gmail dot com. Thanks for the giveaway!!
