MAC Hello Kitty Brush Collection ($49.50)When I saw this MAC Hello Kitty brush holder I just knew that I had to have it, but I wasn't so thrilled to learn that it was only available as part of a $49.50 brush set that was comprised of the 187SE, 109SE and 239SE brushes. I already have a SE 187, in addition to a full-sized one, and the last thing I need is a third, but I just couldn't resist the allure of the shiny black kitty head with the pink bow--but it's sooooo seriously over-priced at $49.50! Now if you really want the brushes in addition to the holder, it's not nearly as bad, but if you're never going to use the brushes, try to resist temptation!
The brush holder itself is just made of your usual, run-of-the-mill plastic--nothing all that special, but so cute! I haven't opened the brushes yet and think this might have to go back because I just can't justify it =X.

Petite Makeup Bag ($22)Yet another over-priced Hello Kitty item, but one that I had no qualms about purchasing. I know some people were complaining about the size, but I love small little things and this petite makeup bag is the perfect size for stashing all my lipsticks and glosses. The exterior is made of a wipe-able soft vinyl, and the interior is a gorgeous hot pink with MAC/Hello Kitty print, plus the bag has a cute silver Hello Kitty pull tab.

I'm still really wanting the larger-sized bag so that I can pop the smaller one in the larger one and they can match!
And I know that this isn't an accessory but I figured some of you might enjoy a closer look at the Tippy Beauty Powder Blush. And see all of my Hello Kitty swatches HERE!

Jen you're making me rethink my brush set. I already have a 187 regular size. Hmmm. How many brushes do you think it'll hold? I just wanted it because I thought it was cute. Although it wouldn't hurt to have an extra 187 and I don't have the 239, and that's part of the set too. I'm still probably going to get it. :O)
You still have me feening for the makeup bags, both. What about the train case? Any opinions?
T.R. if I had more disposable cash at the moment the brush set would be a definite yes--it's just tough to justify when there's so much other stuff I want and I'm essentially paying $50+ for a black plastic cat head cup. The three brushes left PLENTY of room for other brushes--I think if you have an assortment of face and eye brushes (meaning fat and slender), you could probably fit a good 15-20 brushes in there.
Unfortunately I haven't seen the train case in person yet--but that's another item I'm dying to own. That's almost a definite no go for me though since there are just too many other things I need at the moment.
Thank you for this... I started considering the brush set yet again, but this confirmed that it's not worth the price and I don't need it. But you also took away all of the guilt I was feeling over ordering both makeup bags. Yours is absolutely gorgeous, and I love the lining inside! If they were more affordable, I'd get another one of each size, lol. I'm so excited for Tippy, it's so pretty! I want my order to arrive. :(
Nicole I'd agree that you don't need the brush set, although if they sold the holder alone (for under $30 or so) I'd consider it =X.
I'm still dying to get the larger makeup bag, but finances are tight, especially after my camera!
I can't wait to get my hands on Tippy. I actually tried to show restraint this time around, and all the swatches and reviews really helped me narrow down my list. Thanks!
Deb glad I could help save you some money and narrow down your list! Tippy is seriously beautiful and I really do recommend it--but do avoid the beauty powders they were pretty terrible in my opinion.
The Beauty Powders don't even look as though they would show up on me. In some swatches, they even looked a bit chalky.
Deb I swatched away repeatedly and could only get the slightest hint of color, if you could even call it that. And yes they were chalky!
I am on MAC ordering accessories and I cannot decide!! I was going to get the brush holder all along, but now I don't know. And I can't decide on what makeup cases to get. Maybe I should just buy everything even though I am not sure and I can always return later. :0
Thursday is going to be Hell for me too when I actually buy the makeup
I am so disappointed in how expensive that brush holder is. They should offer it without the brushes!
I was ready to click "add to cart" but I just can't justify $50 for a plastic cat head with a hole in it and some mini brushes.
So, I just went with one lipstick and a beauty powder!
Shonn think of it this way--if you decide you don't like it you can always return it, but if you decide not to go for it it may sell out and then you may regret it! Definitely buy everything you think you could possibly want, then just return whatever you decide you can live without once you've seen it in person.
Taryn I agree that it's seriously overpriced! I would've preferred an almost matte-finish cup with a more rubbery feel even though those definitely do collect dust, simply because the shiny blackness of MAC's design will show the tiniest smudges and scratches and I know it would drive me nuts!
